Just In! Indian opener and star batsman Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of World Cup 2019, due to a major thumb injury. He will be missing next three matches of team India and is likely to miss this season of cricket world cup 2019. Dhawan who scored a marvelous hundred against in the previous match against Australia, got hit on his thumb during the batting. He rested during the match against Kangaroos and was allowed a replacement fielder during the match. Now, the news are coming that, he will not be playing for India, till he recovers from his injury.

Dhawan has been prescribed a three week bed rest to recover from this injury. If these are true, Shikhar Dhawan is likely to miss this ongoing season of cricket world cup. Indian cricket fans are praying for the speedy recovery of their star batsman. However, his absence will surely be missed in Cricket World Cup 2019.
Though, BCCI has announced no replacement for Shikhar Dhawan in Team India squad for World cup, but KL Rahul is to open along with Rohit Sharma. Nevertheless this is a heart breaking news for the cricket fans, as Dhawan is considered to be the back bone of Indian batting line up. With Dhawan out of World Cup, Team India will be more vulnerable to the opponent sides. Lets see how India takes on New Zealand in their next world cup fixture on 13th June.
